Teaching

I have been an instructor (both TA and instructor of record) for many different classes, including introductions to philosophy & ethics, political philosophy, and philosophy of art & aesthetics. Here’s a list of classes for which I have syllabi in various states of readiness (some I have taught before & some are things I hope to teach someday; some are fully fleshed-out syllabi and some are syllabi that are in-progress to some degree or other); email me if you want to see any of them.

Clases I’ve Taught as Instructor-of-Record

  • Introduction to Political Philosophy (100-level course)

  • Introduction Philosophy of Art & Aesthetics (200-level course)

  • Applied Ethics (200-level course; 6-week, intensive writing version)

Classes I Want to Teach Someday

  • Meaning in Life

    • Version 1: a relatively typical philosophy class: readings & writing assignments

    • Version 2: a much weirder class, involving some readings, but also podcasts, movies, playing games (board & electronic), and an “Anything But An Essay” Assignment!

  • Together & Alone: Belonging & Connection, Loneliness & Boredom

  • The Philosophy of Repairing: Social, Political, Ethical, Aesthetic

  • Philosophy & The Wire

  • Philosophy & The Simpsons
